Next Saturday they will install my broadband ISP, and my satellite tv will have to go bye-bye. But, now I am feeling insecure about my decision. I feel like I don't watch much tv, but the little I do watch I enjoy.

But by having broadband, I can download movies - if I can afford them. So.....

round and round I go (in my mind) trying to reassure myself that I have done the right thing.

By the way, no access in my area for satellite internet service, or I would have done that. It's cheaper.

2. I'd stay with high speed Internet.

If you use Windows then you can subscribe to Real/Starz which allows you to download movies, most of which are currently in circulation on Starz. You can also sub to Netflix.

I just got cable in Feb and if I had to make a choice, the cable would go before my broadband Internet.

3. Thanks for the info about Starz and Netflix. I'm thinking by having broad

band, I'll be able to see lots of videos that I can't get with my dial-up and that will help make up the "tv void."

I know it's silly to have to keep reassuring myself, and hopefully by this time next week, I'll be thinking what a good decision I have made (I hope)

Tons of info you can find yourself, as well as contact with other people. We gave up tv about three years ago and kept our internet, and I think you'll find that you miss it less than you expect, and have more free time :)

7. I have been considering this

I am on the internet a lot more than I watch TV. Usually when I do watch TV, I just have it on while I am on the internet for background noise. I figured that I could save some $ by cancelling my cable and then upgrading to highspeed internet. I figured I'd be able to catch the Daily Show online and go to my parents or a friends if there was something that I HAD to see. I flew this idea by my wife and she was having none of it. :shrug:

Fox. I used to watch CNN and C-span but don't anymore.
