Poll question: Soda: Coca-Cola or Pepsi
The age-old question. Will there ever be an answer?

64. And so do I, because it's easier to find the end of the roll...
But "soda", that is, club soda, is just a subset of "pop", which in some parts of the Great White North we also call "soft drinks".

46. They're all coke
Even if it's Mr. Pibb or the local supermarket brand. ALL coke. Even Pepsi. Just don't bring any Pepsi around here. In my local supermarket, there's literally about 15 feet of shelf space for coca-cola for every 1 foot of Pepsi products... because that's the demand... Pepsi doesn't mix with anything well.

57. It used to be "soda pop" because when they first came out, you
could only buy them at the soda fountain counter in drug stores. Then people got lazy and some called it "soda" and some called it "pop". And then there are those who call it "sody pop".

27. Normally, I'm a Pepsi girl
but one of my prescriptions makes all cola drinks unbearable for me to drink--they taste metallic, or flat, or a combination of both. I've had to give up my Pepsi as a result.

Instead, I drink either root beer or mountain dew--the latter only when I need the caffeine boost, which I try to avoid after 2 in the afternoon.

30. I know this may sound odd, but I don't drink soda anymore....
My partner and I started a challenge to see how long we could go without drinking soda. We eventually broke down and bought some and found that we didn't miss it at all.

I think the last time I had a soda of any flavor or brand was about 5 or 6 months ago. Prior to that, though, we were Coke consumers.

34. I did the same thing many years ago
I just stopped drinking soda one day and now I may have one occasionally when that's all that's available but I can't understand why I used to like it. It's too fizzy and sweet and has a metallic after taste. I don't even like mass-market beer anymore cuz it's too fizzy. I think the taste for soda prepares us for poor beer.

42. From 1995 to 2002, Coke gave proportionately more to Dems than Pepsi
(though both still gave disproportionately to Republicans)

from Common Cause:

"Coca-Cola and affiliated donors, for instance, gave $807,000 to Democrats but $1.74 million to Republicans. PepsiCo gave $255,000 to the Democrats but $1.7 million to Republicans."

Killer Coke's Casualties

Listed below are union leaders at Coca-Cola's Colombian bottling plants who have been murdered. Hundreds of other Coke workers have been tortured, kidnapped and/or illegally detained by violent paramilitaries, often working closely with plant managements.
