I want a man
a good, honest, trustworthy and funny man. Why is it so f*cking hard to find one?

5. I think a lot of "good guys" are homebodies.
I really don't go out all that much myself. Thus, it's hard to be seen at meet people. I'm also an introvert, which doesn't help.

I'm just speaking for myself, but I bet my answers are fairly typical.

27. I think you're right there.
I've always liked the more quiet types, but I can be enough of a flirt to put myself out there so they know I'm interested. Sometimes the types of men that make better "relationship guys" are more reserved to begin with. Therefore, you have to be willing to meet them halfway. It helps that I'm more of a family-oriented homebody when it comes down to it too. As flirty as I can be (or as girly as I can look), ultimately I'm a die-hard monogamist who doesn't use drugs (except coffee :P) and is pretty geeky on most levels. :D

49. I would have to agree.
I only met my wife because we lived in the same building - and all her friends are jealous because I am all of the aforementioned.

(And I'm smart enough to use the word "aforementioned")

94. I think I'm a"good guy"
and my mom tells me I am also.

I'm not much of an outgoing person. I'd much rather stay home and watch a movie or go to the movies then go out to normal socializing places.

Your answers are fairly typical, in my opinion also, for those of us who consider ourselves "good guys."

9. You just reminded me of a quote from Dogma
Bethany: You're suggesting I need to get filled?

Liz: In more ways than one. You need to get laid, Bethany Sloane. You need a man, if only for ten minutes.

Bethany: It's been my experience that the average male is never a man. Not even for ten minutes in his entire lifespan.

Liz: That's a bit militant. You thinking of joining the other side?

Bethany: Couldn't do it. Women are insane.

Liz: Then YOU need to go back to church and ask God for a third option.

Bethany: I think that God is dead.

Liz: The sign of a true Catholic.

44. Yeah, we bought right before the housing bubble started
We bought at below-market value in 1997, right before the local market took off. We had to quit remodelling it last year, when I lost my job, so it's still in disrepair. We're selling for less than the market value, but we'll still make out okay. The house is in such a sorry state of repair, I'd rather have the money right now, anyway!

What part of Germany are you in? My last employer had offices in Frankfurt, but I never had a good enough business purpose to make the trip. Of course, I bet I could fly pretty well for $60k... :D

Honey, you gotta advertise. Let's see what you got! ;)

Seriously, I spent an evening, a year or two ago, with a beautiful (and intact - a rarity in the states these days) family of 5 from Germany. We shared a lean-to (a 3 sided log shelter) on the Appalachian Trail.

I just fell in love with this family. They were so wonderful. They cooked a nice meal, roasted marshmellows over the fire, and then read to the children before bedtime. It nearly brought tears to my eyes.

They were so great (and included me in much of what they did). I wanted to move to Germany ... where the American Dream apparently still lives.

143. Ahem...
How about this? I'm 38 (but look 30), never married, minimal emotional baggage, one year from completing my PhD. I love sports, movies, classical music (and I will sign to you or play the piano for you... ah, Chopin...), and I'm trained Southern gentleman; e.g., I open doors and pick up the check. And how's this for a range of talents: I can cook, I can do laundry without ruining it (yes, I know what fabric softener is and I know not to put bras in with the other "delicates" or in the dryer), I can change the oil in the car, and I can do tilework/caulking/basic plumbing. I love to make people smile or laugh. I have no distinguishing scars. I am 6 feet (1.82m) tall. Black hair, fair skin, light brown eyes with gold highlights.

What's the catch, you say? I just have horrible timing. I can never seem to meet the right person at the right time.

149. I wish someone had told you about Sapelo.
It's not developed like the NC beaches or St. Simon's. There's a beach on Sapelo close to the old RJ Reynolds mansion that has almost no light pollution. On a moonless night, you can walk along the beach, see the stars, see the phosphorescence of the breaking waves. You can see the lights of fishing boats 2-3 miles offshore. It's completely dark... and completely romantic.

Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 01:59 AM by evlbstrd
Stack 'em on white bread with pickle slices and a zesty sauce.
edit to add to the menu:

Some German potato salad and a side of Freedom Fries.
Do you have a good cabbage slaw recipe?

would you like to trade some recipes?
I can teach you how to smoke ribs, and make great pit beans.
I need a cole slaw and German potato salad recipe.
