My husband called me a freeper! LOL!

My beloved husband has learned that the "worst" DU slam is to be called "a freeper," and so, since he is a clever man, he decided to use it "in context" today.

The topic was whether or not I need to schedule an appointment for him with our chiropractor. He threw his back out about a week or so ago, and he's been complaining about the pain ever since, but he keeps telling me he "doesn't have the time" to go to an appointment because he is so swamped at work. After a week of this nonsense I attempted to use a different brand of logic on him --

"Do you really think you are doing your best work, if you are in pain all the time?"

"No," he said warily.

"Well, then by avoiding going to get the problem fixed, aren't you working less efficiently, which is really just wasting time, AND being a martyr for no good reason?"

(Pause)

"That's one way to look at it, if you're a freeper!"

I cracked up, and promptly came to share the tale with you folks.

Whenever my mother and I get into a disagreement & I outsmart her, she'll say I'm spinning things like freeper. She's been lurking on DU since 2001. :)
