Lounge lizards, we need about 370,000 posts to overtake GD!

How will we do this? How can we smash the tyranny of GD and become the dominant forum of DU? Here are some suggestions.

1. Stop participation in GD. If you have a serious issue to discuss, discuss it here. If rational discussion of the issue is impossible here, at least try to discuss it in a non GD forum. There are often fora that would be more specifically tuned to your topic. Failing that, the Wyoming state forum has lots of space!

2. Increase participation in the lounge. If you see a thread, reply. If you have a stupid idea for a DU group, such as the yak herding group, start a thread asking for people who want to be a member. If you see a thread that you can make a copycat of, copycat it (of course one should try to be funny and not just lame). And please remember to respond to any thread you see.

3. Do a little sparring. We don't like flamewars, but they generate a hell of a lot of posts. So let's do the Nerf equivalent and have bickerwars where people bicker endlessly over a point. This ought to help bring our number of messages up.

If we work hard, I have no doubt that the Lounge will be the largest in DU by January 2006. That's a little more than 5 months from now. Let's do this!
