Great movie.
Loved the way it made the characters look real. People making the wrong decisions at every turn.
Some of them surviving despite of it.
An excellent homage to both George Pal and H.G. Wells.
Three thumbs up.

6. Tom? He played an asshole in this movie |
|

He plays assholes in all of his movies
I think that the look on his face after he saw the initial alien attack was a statement about his assholiness and that in the big picture, he's just an insignificant little flea.

It was a seat grabber for me, intense.
I kept thinking, "PEOPLE get away from all the other people!"
I did like it.

4. Thanks for the recommendation |
|
Now, I will definitely see it.
Having seen the original, I was wavering. Didn't want to be disappointed.

8. But...this doesn't really follow the book, does it? |
|
Isn't it basically "The War of the Worlds" in title only?

9. I never read the book, so I can't tell you |

I saw the 50's movie and I loved it.

my husband was really worried about that because he is such a fan of the book (I think it is the only book he has ever really read through. J/king sort of) and he really liked the movie a lot and thought it was very close to the book.

12. Well, then I guess I WILL rent the movie when it goes off the |
|
recent releases bin.
I'll save my money for F4.
