Actress/singer Frances Langford dead at 92

JENSEN BEACH, Fla., Jul 11, 2005 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Actress/singer Frances Langford, who entertained troops with Bob Hope during World War II, died Monday at her home in Jensen Beach, Fla., at age 92.

Langford's biggest hit and signature song was "I'm in the Mood for Love." She left Hollywood in the 1950s, but still performed at her restaurant in Jensen Beach.

She appeared in a number of movies during the 1930s and 1940s including "Every Night at Eight," "Palm Springs," "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and "This is the Army." She appeared as herself in her final film, "The Glenn Miller Story," in 1954.

There will be no funeral and Langford's ashes will be strewn off the coast of Jensen Beach.

And there was no mention of "The Bickersons" in the obit. Silly reporters. :)
