Remember Kirk Cameron?
Looks like Hollyweird was a little "too much" for Kirk.

2. Yeah, he's a nutcase.
His sister (the oldest daughter on "Full House") has also gone a similar direction.

kid after kid after kid. Good thing she is rich and wont have to rely on a company to provide health insurance or god forbid, the government!

5. Amazingly they apparently are not in it for the money
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 06:46 PM by Emerson
I emailed them sometime ago posing as a right winger asking if I could make tons of copies of their videos and distribute them. They responded to me and said yes as long as they were not being sold.

on edit: I have to say I expected money to be the issue and threats of copyright law suits to come up. The email however was very very odd. Something about thanking me for "laboring in the harvest field".

9. Here is what I say.
I agree with your statement 100%. I will never begrudge someone's right to worship. My beliefs have Christian overtones, but these people want to talk down to you and scare you into believing what they believe. I find the practice repulsive myself. If people want to do it and follow it, I can't stop them. But I want no part of this hoodwinking.

18. I didn't see anything at the site
that was too out of the ordinary as far as Christians go. I think most Christians believe that God wants them to go out and spread the word. I guess being preachy comes with the territory.

22. He says if you believe that God is a forgiving God...
...then you are an idoler because that God does not exist and is false. Therefore, you are going to hell. Or that if you have had sex before you are married, you are going to hell. By his standards, I would be going to hell on both counts.

30. I just looked through the entire "not a Christian" section
And nowhere does it say anything like you said in your post. In fact they wrap it up talking about how God can forgive you of your sins. They say you are going to hell if you do not accept God in your life. That's it.

29. The flash presentation is from Evangelism Explosion.
Back in my born-again decade I took a class on a 5-part gospel presentation where you learn how to "witness" to people. You write parts of it yourself and can select from a list of Bible verses to illustrate each point.

28. I don't begrudge your regular, everyday Christian... I am one.
But fundies like Cameron, I really have no positive feelings towards. He's not just dedicating his life to Jesus. I actually heard him speak at my in-laws fundy church (I couldn't resist.) The guy is hard-care, fundy fruitcake material, damning people to hell and tossing around the typical religious-Chrstian Colaition bullshit we've all grown to know and love.

More power to people like me and other everyday, regular Christians who are fighting like mad to reclaim a faith that has been taken hostage by the merry band of murderers and their christo-fascist zombie-brigade followers.

Considering Bob's recent appearance on the HBO show Entourage. It was quite a wild cameo, or at least for Bob.

23. Bob Saget is also Jewish so I am sure Mrs Bure
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 07:03 PM by ikojo
is doing her best to convert him to the "one true faith." After all don't fundies get additional points for bringing a Jew over?

I heard Saget say in an interview a few years ago how he wanted to distance himself from his Full House role. He does have quite the mouth on him.

24. Kirk had girl fired from Growing Pains because she was in Playboy
It makes you wonder what would happen if people could be fired for their religious beliefs.

http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Growing-Pains

-snip
The 1989-1990 season was retconned out of existence as a dream of Mike Seaver's after Kirk Cameron insisted Julie McCullough be fired for posing for Playboy magazine. Mr. Cameron later apologized for his actions. The season had ended on a cliffhanger where Mike asked Julie to marry him. Initially the character of Julie abandoned Mike at the altar; there was a backlash by fans and she was brought back later to reconcile. McCullough did not find out she was being fired until showing up to film what she thought was a wedding episode. Retroactive continuity – commonly contracted to the portmanteau word retcon – refers to the act of changing previously established details of a fictional setting, often without providing an explanation for the changes within the context of that setting.

Cameron's religious beliefs consistently interfered with production of the show. He insisted that no "adult themes" be incorporated into episodes, at one point even calling several of the producers "pornographers." Three producers quit due to mistreatment by Cameron.
