They don't have any mental institutions in the U.S. that make their patients go naked. I think they stopped doing that at the turn of the century.

it's been quite a few years since i was a therapy tech at our state hospital. We had isolation rooms and there were levels of suicide watch. For sure no shoes strings or belts. Sometime restraints were required. Some were softer and some hard and locked with keys. For some reason it seems like we had some that didn't need restraints that went to isolation who might have taken their own clothes off. And if you tried to kill your self with your clothes for sure you might have them taken away. Say if you went to isolation with out restraints, raised hell took off your own clothes or tried to choke yourself with your underwear elastic, a shrink might give orders to have a team go in and restrain you or to take your clothing. It would surely more humane to be covered in that ugly contraption than to be naked...although if someone is having a psychotic break I doubt if they care if they are naked or not.

8. That's news to me

I've been on a lock down psych ward three times. All three for being suicidal and psychotic. They have medication that will sedate you to the point that you no longer give a fuck about trying to kill yourself. This medication can be forcefully given if not voluntarily taken.

But I have never been to a state hospital. The person that I've seen closest to actually doing harm on a psych ward was a guy who had to have his bed frame removed because he was caught trying to take it apart to use a part as a weapon.

I noticed that one of the models in the original post resembles you a little with the hair and the beard. I think it would be wise if we didn't judge people by looks. I think you look cool, btw, but it's only by you showing your inner coolness on here that I can know for sure.

Just having a bit of fun, but I don't judge by one's appearance. I myself don't look much like a 'stereotypical' lefty. ;)
