What's the largest tip you've ever left a bartender/bartendress?

I dunno...waking up drunk, for some reason, brought this question to my ming...(oh, and my new Lappy, which randomly causes to type me out random and useless posts)?

About 3 years ago, I was finishing up (in other words, staggering to a cab) from my bar, the Poorhouse in Ft. Lauderdale. I knew I had tipped too low (or forgotten to tip) a particular bartender when I was underage and broke (I'm nearly 26 now). I knew she had rent to pay and whatnot, possibly a kid to boot, and she was cute as hell (yes, that certainly helps when you are a bartender).

So I left her a 1 ounce .995 piece gold Maple Leaf.

Poor girl didn't know what to do with it. Seeing as her rent (she had a roommate) was less than my gold, I told her to hold on to until she fell onto hard times; left her the name and an address of an honest coin dealer to take it to along w/ my name (if you know a coin dealer on a first name basis and they are halfway to honest, they won't skim more than 5%). Had to explain to the poor girl that American Eagles, German Krugers, and Canadian Maple Leafs would sell full price...$380 the time.

So I figured I'de make up for my past stinginess and pay her rent for that month...never saw her after that at my favorite bar...:(

Oh well...NOW they sell 2 buck beers on Saturday...before I was only getting underage Long Island Ice Teas.

Ok, I got heartburn now...any tip/bar stories to tell?
