1. Yes, and it should make anyone who is against elitism feel the same

One of the purposes of the DLC was to break up the existing good old boy system in the Democratic Party and to replace it with one of its own.

Actual membership in the DLC was set up to be by invitation only. Membership criteria are mostly what the insiders do, but the DLC published criteria that members should be elected officials and community leaders. Successful community leaders is vague, but presumably means people who had directed successful campaigns on local referendums or other community issues.

The idea that a successful party is based on the political decisions of successful politicians is and was easily perverted.

2. In my opinion.....

the DLC is just another elitist group that can be bought and sold by corporations just as the Republican Party has been. I do not trust them, they seem to have their own agenda as opposed to grass roots Democrats. Maybe I'm wrong about them and I certainly hope so. Our leadership needs to give the power back to the people, not to the wealthy and corporate raiders as is the case now.
