I'm homonymophobic
No really, up until I turned 40, I almost never had trouble with there/their/they're, you're/your, grate/great and the like, but these days I have to vet every post carefully and still one or two slip by every day. I swear, its enough to make you doubt you're abilities!

1. I've noticed this mostly when emailing. I don't have the problem
when I write in Word.

I think it may have something to do with dashing off replies. I've noticed the same problem with e-mails I receive from otherwise quite literate people who would never make such mistakes when writing formally.

2. Email stinks because you can't edit it once it's gone
At least here you can always edit for an hour, not that most of us bother.
