"Footloose"
I watch it even though it doesn't make any sense a town that outlawed dancing? I guess it could only happen in the south.
I still like to watch Kevin Bacon dance.

3. It took place in a small town in the west.
Not the south.

4. Not trying to be offensive towards the south.
The notion that a community would outlaw rock music and dancing seems unlikely even in the eighties. That is the point I was trying to convey.

5. I'm not upset.
I am just used to having to defend myself because of my geographic location on this board a lot and never know when it is a "slam the south" thread. :)

6. The town was in Missouri and was
Purdy. The law no longer exists, however. Leave it to a bunch of thumpers, though.

8. It's based on an actual town that outlawed dancing
Elmore City, Oaklaholma to be exact.

Mirimar, Florida once outlawed rock music to be played in public.
