Fire Walk with Me.... Twin Peaks.... David Lynch Appreciation Thread.
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 09:37 PM by Tom Yossarian Joad
Did David Lynch write for Bush?

What happened to Lynch?

Twin Peaks... Twin Towers....

Fire Walk....

Why is there no creative TV programming on network anymore.....

What the fuck was it with the log lady anyway?

I'd like a piece of pie.

Please continue in Lynch/Peaks talk.

Now.

Did you ever take cocaine?

You never took drugs?

Caffeine's a drug.

Carry on.

1. When I first moved to Portland,
imagine my surprise to see the one-armed man walking past the refrigerated case of meats in my grocery store.

Later I drank with him and interviewed him for a column I did on drinking for a local rag here. Al Strobel. Quite an accomplished actor, union representative, advocate for cinema in Portland, adventurer, and all-around nice guy.

Have watched the entire series of "Twin Peaks" many times. It's about that time again. Thanks for the reminder.

6. Lynch's most underrated film in my opinion
And one of my favourites.

"Well now, I'm not gonna talk about Judy. In fact, we're not gonna talk about Judy at all, we're gonna keep her out of it."

10. He's doing a lot of weird experimental shorts for his website...
He did this really neat online miniseries called Rabbits. Bizarre shit. I love it. I heard he was showing a new film called "Inland Empire" at Cannes, but I haven't been able to find any information on it. I'm dying for some new Lynch.

And such a statement in itself.

17. Funny thing about blue velvet is no one who worked on it really
thought it was gonna be this cult thing. They were all just shocked. For me David Lynch in an interview, you know, the personality is a riot. He's funny smart and weird. I just dig him... even more than his movies which often do not deliver. I liked Blue Velvet, Eraserhead and Elephant Man, Dune, Mullholland drive and even Straight Story.... almost in that order.

There's a fish in the percolator."

I love Jack Nance. And Twin Peaks.

Soon it will time to watch again. October or November, when the owls are flying.

20. Laura and Donna sprawled over the furniture in Donna's livingroom:
DONNA
Do you think that if you were falling in space you would slow down after a while or go faster and faster?

LAURA
Faster and faster. For a long time you wouldn't feel anything. Then you would burst into fire... forever. And the Angels wouldn't help you, 'cause they've all gone away.
