Update: KFC is Kentucky and Fried again (Go figure)
A few weeks back on my Most annoying commercial jingles poll, many of us (mainly me) were raving about why a restaurant chain ostensibly from Kentucky would be using the music from "Sweet Home Alabama" in their advertising. I pointed out that they had changed the name to KFC long ago and apparently were trying to leave behind their Kentuckyness, and maybe the Skynyrd number was intended to convey Southernness in general. However, the new spots still feature the same music and the narrator goes out of his way to remind viewers that the K and F stand for Kentucky and Fried. Is this Pepsico's answer to New Coke? Are they just totally clueless fuckups? I. just. don't. know.

6. They dropped the "Fried"
image a long time ago and called it KFC to appeal to the healthy "non-fried" lifestyle.....I guess it wasn't working for them....
