The Auditors are here for the next two days-Will *this* work?

Preliminary audit (setting risk and such) not the biggee. I am not in charge of it this year (for reasons still unclear to everyone including the auditors) but I am thinking about taking *this* approach when they come in my office and ask me questions

"I can not comment on that as there is currently an on going audit on this matter"

"I can't comment on that until the audit is completed. After it is completed I will be more than willing to discuss it"

What do you think? Should I try it?

I'm sorry, that matter is currently under investigation, so I am not permitted to release any results. No, filing an open records request won't help. The matter is STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION, so we are not required to release that information, even under the ORR!

If you say I should have one then the question is why don't you or what is your justification for not having one? Which really is just hindsight which we don't deal with here. We are about the future, what is going to happen and what we plan to do about it...

4. NOPE! You didn't say where these auditors were from,

but I dealt with audits from a lot of different sources for years. They're usually not very happy creatures, and have absolutely NO sense of humor.

6. Financial auditors

and they have a pretty good sense of humor. This is just easy money for them. 3-5 days tops and a set payment amount.

I used to work for an accounting firm-the first audit I went on the partner who was there just sat there looking at me (I had no idea what I was supposed to do) so he says to me, "You have an accounting degree right?"

"Yes"

"Then you should no what to do, right?"

(noticeable silence- the other audit team members buried their faces behind their laptops)

Me"Uh not really"

Partner:"Go pick up that binder.... and do what they did last year"
