Who else loved Foundation?
I just reread it, and found the group psychology rather interesting. It's also rather obvious what Asimovs opinion of religion is LOL.

1. I found Asimov's writing tedious and boring
in most of his work, especially the Foundation series.

Now, Orson Scott Card's Ender series is phenomenal. Ender's Game was a book that truly surprised me.

2. Hmmm
well my Sci Fi experience is limited, so I can't comment on Orson Scott Card.

3. I read the Foundation Trilogy
maybe 30-32 years ago and loved it then. I don't know what I'd think today, but back then I was mesmerized.

4. I love them
Since I am a student of history, I was grabbed by the premise of psychohistory, and the nature of empires as they rise and fall. "Foundation And Earth" was my favorite in the series, although I think it is out of print now.

The foundations kicks ass!

Why do you build me up (build me up) Buttercup, baby
Just to let me down (let me down) and mess me around
And then worst of all (worst of all) you never call, baby
When you say you will (say you will) but I love you still
I need you (I need you) more than anyone, darlin'
You know that I have from the start
So build me up (build me up) Buttercup, don't break my heart

"I'll be over at ten", you told me time and again
But you're late, I wait around and then (bah-dah-dah)
I went to the door, I can't take any more
It's not you, you let me down again

(Hey, hey, hey!) Baby, baby, try to find
(Hey, hey, hey!) A little time and I'll make you mine
(Hey, hey, hey!) I'll be home
I'll be beside the phone waiting for you
Ooo-oo-ooo, ooo-oo-ooo

Why do you build me up (build me up) Buttercup, baby
Just to let me down (let me down) and mess me around
And then worst of all (worst of all) you never call, baby
When you say you will (say you will) but I love you still
I need you (I need you) more than anyone, darlin'
You know that I have from the start
So build me up (build me up) Buttercup, don't break my heart

You were my toy but I could be the boy you adore
If you'd just let me know (bah-dah-dah)
Although you're untrue, I'm attracted to you all the more
Why do I need you so

I-I-I need you-oo-oo more than anyone, baby
You know that I have from the start

7. I love the Foundation Trilogy
Or should say that I loved when I read it last time, which was probably more than 30 years ago. Azimov was a great writer at his best. I did read some of his last work, where he tried to tie together that universe with the "I, Robot" universe, and those basically were rather bad. You should read the whole trilogy, I think you'll love it.

As yes, Azimov was a scientific rationalist and a progressive thinker. He was a good man.

8. I loved them
Except for the representation of the women characters, which was typical of sci-fi at the time. The whole idea of complicated mathematics to predict human behavior once a critical population was reached fascinated me. I fact, maybe I'll go reread the whole thing, it's been a while
