Her first release was IMO one of the best popular recordings ever. Her later work is uneven, or maybe I haven't listened to it enough. But she still sounds good even recording jingles about baked goods.

Only commercial I know that contained her voice was for the new Beetle, and that was a sample of her talking about fluffy clouds that The Orb used in a song.

15. Her acitvism is what inspired her to start writing songs again.

I got to know her fairly well via IM a few years ago, when she was entirely uninspired and suffering from writer's block. Then when W stole the first election, she got really mad, and that started her creative juices flowing.
