I had some tire problems today, so I got to the tire shop first thing this morning. I was the first customer there. They opened promptly at 8:00. The guy behind the counter took a quick look at my car and then put me "on the board"... but I was second in line. This perturbed me a bit as I was the first person there and now I was waiting behind someone who had got there after me.
Anyway, the guy told me he'd have me out by 9:00, so ok, I'll wait. at 8:45 he tells me that my car is just going in, but he'll have me out by 9:15. Ugh. At 9:05 he tells me that they had been repairing the air valve on the tire, but they'll get it right up on the alignment machine and I'll be out by 9:30. By now I'm pretty perturbed, as I've been there nearly 2 hours. The coffee sucks and the tv is tuned to Jane Pauley.
At 9:25, the Jane Pauley show (which is featuring mothers and daughters that work together) airs this mother and daughter musical team. The mom's on the piano, the daughter's on the cello and they play the sweetest little ditty.
To think that if I had been out of there when they initially said I would be out of there--I would have missed that lovely piece of music.
That would have been a loss, for sure.
