Sorry I just have to rant!!

I always check latest breaking news when I first enter the DU site. Today there were at least three threads posted about toddlers being murdered. Now I understand that some of these stories are political and so of interest to DUers, but as a mom and grandmother, my heart skips everytime I see one of these posts.
I understand that the world is an awful place especially since this administration has been in power. I guess I just hope that these threads are posted for the right reasons and not because of the gore or shock value.

I also run into the problem where I tend to avoid places like that. I hate the local news channels for that reason, and most every magazine has it. I stopped my subscription to People because every issue had a story about child abuse or murder, and my purpose for buying the magazine was for pure entertainment. I probably won't go back to breaking news today either.
