Making beer...

Making a Widmer clone. I just mashed in the grains at 120 degrees and will let them go through a rest for 1.5 hours. I'll mash out at 156 degrees and boil for an hour with 2 ounces of Hallertau 3.2 AA hops. Going to pitch a White Labs American Wheat yeast.

In about 2 weeks, I'll keg, force carbonate, and then serve.

At $25 for all the ingredients, which yields 5 gallons of beer at a whack (67 12 ounce beers), it comes out to about $0.36 a beer.

My father brews his own beer, too. He has made some pretty excellent brews in the past. I have to admit I never knew it was that cheap to do it yourself.

it's very affordable. More so than buying beer all the time.

5. That's great if you can do that.

However I just don't seem to have the touch when it comes to brewing suds. My concoctions would make a billygoat :puke:
