BTW, your namesake toad was injured badly and is hopefully going to recuperate to full recovery in my barn. I have a little toad hospital set up. Something ate one of his back legs. It is nasty but he found his way back to my barn and had not moved from my little hospital since last Saturday. I am just terribly worried that he will now only be able to travel in circles. :shrug:

my condolences for the little fella. I hadn't forgotten your posts about him and it's a shame that some critter had a fancy feast that day... it's always the sweetest creatures that get the worst demises; I hope he is able to recover and live for some time yet.

I enjoy your posts, I read a lot of them.

It sounds to me like you are having a hard time of it right now. It can't get worse can it? If your answer is no then it has to get better. I know that is trite but I have always found it to be true but sometimes it takes a long time for that to happen. It took 2 years and a special project to bring me out of a very bad depression.

I called my neighbor who is a herpetologist and asked him about Hypno Toad Jr. He told me that he sees lots of toads and frogs that lose parts to various predators (or mowers) and they either die or live! HA! Anyway, he thought he might just make it. I think I might just move him to the garden with his little hospital room because he would be happier there and would probably have an easier time getting food. I have been giving him small bits of ground turkey. I did not know if he would eat it or not but it seems he is. He also has a friend. A small Leopard frog can be found each morning sharing his little room. He hops off as soon as I show up but it must mean that the room isn't bad. :shrug: Who knows? I just do what I can. :)
