I have a strange Harry Potter question.
Has anyone here pre-ordered a Harry Potter book from Barnes & Noble? I ordered mine a long time ago & the tracking does not say when I should receive it, but from when it shipped I think I should get it today.
My question is will they deliver the books before they go on sale? I really hope I get mine today!

1. I don't know about BN, but
Amazon was advertising that the book would be delivered on Satruday.

2. You should get it tomorrow (7/16) the first day of sale.

Orders for home delvery will NOT be delivered early.

The publishing industry has a policy known as 'Strict-on-Sale' for certain hugely popular titles/authors (eg Harry Potter, Janet Evanovich, John Grisham, etc).

Any store caught selling the book before this date faces extreme sanction from the publishing house (and possible legal action too).

3. That would be ok. As long as I don't have to wait until Monday.

5. yeah, the public library I work at
will actually get the books prior to Saturday, but we are ABSOLUTELY not allowed to check them out to anyone before then.

Legal issue.

6. Yup, they're under lock & key.
There was a clause that Scholastic could do a spot check to make sure that the cartons weren't tampered with.

4. I pre-ordered the last Harry Potter book from B & N. It was on my doorstep
the morning of the first sale day.
