Brand new air conditioner on the floor not covered. Should it be covered? He says no, nothing will get on it. I say, something could get on it, why chance it. What do you think?

1. Cover it
Paint splatters. However, air conditioners have plastic and metal exteriors. Paint comes off them pretty easily.

3. true about the ease of cleaning it. But why HAVE to?
So silly this seems, I know, but he's "blown away" that I think it should be covered. Is this a "what are you questioning my abilities?" thing?

2. Cover it

4. Ooh, brave man
He's tempting fate. Every time I convince myself I can paint without random splatter or drops landing on the furniture, I have a painting accident.

Cover it with newspapers at least.

6. Just tell him
that if it splatters it is his responsibility to clean it up. That always works for me.

7. Your rooms are being painted in vivid colors, and you're worried
about the air conditioner?

Someone send this to the reality show producers :D

8. Cover it
Just to be safe. What the hell is the big deal about covering it? Makes no sense to me, haha.

12. No sense to me either, that's why I think it's a "principle thing"

10. Don't cover it
If he actually doesn't get paint on it, good for him.

If he does, then you have access to this phrase for the rest of your life: "...yeah, like the time you said you wouldn't get paint on that new air conditioner..."

11. (1) It Would be Wise to Cover It
(2) If he's doing the job, however, he may want to have some leeway in HOW he does it. This may be his point even if he doesn't phrase it that way. When I do a job, I like to be able to do it my own way.

(3) He needs to understand the requirement, namely that if paint splatters, he cleans it up immediately. If he promises this, it would be OK to let him paint his own way.

(4) Personally, I would be more worried about other surfaces than the air conditioner.

13. Well, I agree with number one
I believe number two is quite likely. Number three will NEVER happen. LMAO... and number four.... I am more concerned about the "other" surfaces, such as the walls he's painting (OMG>>> the colors!!!)

15. Okay...... here it goes....
Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 03:41 PM by halobeam
Ceiling is off white with brown square in the middle. 3 walls are a gold color with a touch of green and the "accent...lmao" wall color is like a chartreuse green. Around the top of the walls, (that's right, there's more), is a solid 3" brown painted stripe.

It's almost all painted now, and when it's done I'll post a pic... you could only imagine, and truthfully, your imagination will let you down.

What will I be doing this weekend? searching for bedding to match. LMAO... yeah that'll happen soon. hehe

BTW.... he covered the AC...

Thanks for all your input everyone!
