1. I like it!
I've tried drawing comic type characters before, but I'm horrible!

4. My best drawings come from when I look at another drawing
and draw it myself with a few modifications on hair, eyes, nose, clothes, stuff like that. I will see about getting a few scanned. I can't come up with original drawings at all.

5. It's ok
That is one of the best ways to learn how to draw. I usually do best when looking at something as well. My art tutor says that is very common with artists and that it is difficult to create something from imagination itself so artists often use tools such as refrences from magazines, books, photos etc. as well as those little manequinne dolls you can buy at most arts and crafts stores.

The three things that I am trying to learn to do are extreme emotions on faces, foreshortening and block shadowing.

If you want to learn how to draw comic book characters, you can get "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way."

It's a good little tutorial book

8. Yes it's a really good book
I can't get into manga drawing though. Anime freaks me out with the big eyes and stuff.

6. It isn't easy!!!
The legs look like that they've been cut or something and the left breast looks squashed on the screen. Foreshortening can be a bitch.
