If I hear Brown Eyed Girl just one more time...
I'll be in the bell tower with my fully auto Chinese made AK-47, hell I might even bring along a couple of homemade Molotov cocktails to boot. It is officially the most over played worst song of all time. I am counting the days 'til Van Morrison's death so that I might piss on his grave.

1. Hey, where did we go

Days when the rains came ?
Down in the hollow
Playing a new game,
Laughing and a-running, hey, hey,
Skipping and a-jumping
In the misty morning fog with
Our, our hearts a-thumping
And you, my brown-eyed girl,

You, my brown-eyed girl.
Whatever happened
To tuesday and so slow
Going down to the old mine with a
Transistor radio.
Standing in the sunlight laughing
Hide behind a rainbow’s wall,
Slipping and a-sliding
All along the waterfall
With you, my brown-eyed girl,
You, my brown-eyed girl.

Do you remember when we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
Just like that
Sha la la la la la la la la la la dee dah
La dee dah....

<<ducks>>

7. Makin' Love in the Green Grass..behind the sta-dee-um
If you've ever,in fact, made love in the green grass behind the stadium:smoke: the song holds a different meaning and memory...
forever, I might add.

3. I agree it's overplayed
so is Moondance, but treat yourself to other Van titles and you'll be a convert to his music. Even Van hates Brown Eyed Girl and won't play it at his concerts.

4. I agree.
Moondance, I can't stand. The rest of that album, love it.

Brown Eyed Girl though...I still dig it.

Once you have committed to pissing on somebody's grave when they die there is no turning back. }(

Long before the silly "Don't Worry Be Happy"

10. You know...
... I understand that the song is overplayed, but at least it is a good song. No, not really, it is a great song.

If I hear one more Doobie Brothers song, I'm going to be at the tower next door shooting at you :)

13. The best Doobies are the underplayed ones
The "One Step Closer" album is still one of my favorites.

and jump.

When I was in college I had so much Van Morrison thrown at me by my roommates, god I HATED EVERY SINGLE NOTE, it was SO dull it almost caused me pain. And then a friend came over and threw in "Moondance" and actually said "Van just kees making it more intense" :wtf:

Van Morrison intense?!? I suppose I can see why some people might like it, it's sort of relaxing and picturesque--but intense? I repeat :wtf:

Don't even get me started on Tupelo Honey or Jelly Roll
:puke:

15. Or "Into the Mystic"....
... Morrison is an artist. Art appreciation is subjective. But anyone who thinks/feels he wasn't a gifted artist wouldn't know art if it smacked them with a brick.

Yes, some VM is intense. I only care for music with passion and intensity. VM need make no apologies for his contributions :)

16. I've always found it depressing...
That the same guy who wrote "Gloria" and other songs while in the band THEM, is the same guy who is responsible for Brown Eyed Girl, aka, EVERY father/daughter wedding dance EVER.

22. That sound doesn't bring out my good side either.
The first year I went to sleep away camp one of the girls in my cabin was obsessed with that song and would play over and over and over... When we got on her case she'd defend herself by saying that she had brown eyes. Our cabin counselor wouldn't do anything about it. Finally another girl and I got fed up and pulled a series of pranks until she was convinced not to get on our bad side anymore. It worked better than expected because the next few summers I went there I still had people talking about me }(.
