I want people to tell me what their parents or grand parents told them while they were out running around catching fire flys and the lightning was showing up on the horizon......

BEFORE the rain comes.. I'm guessing it's because of scrambled "ions" or something, because of the tremendous temperature differences when the heat rises up and hits that cold upper air??
I've even seen lightning during SNOW storms in Indiana..:shrug:
