18-wheeler "car chase" Rancho Cucamonga.. "Don't look"
of course they are showing it live, and describing the texture of the loose gravel.. then reinding the public that "he probably knows what he's doing...he's driving very well".. no erratic driving..no crashes (darn,,they sound disappointed)..

They are naming cross streets and highways, and saying..DON"T GO AND TRY TO FIND HIM...but if you encounter him, please don't try to stop him...

Sure lady...I'm gonna get in my Honda and "challenge" an 18-wheeler:)..

LA news people LIVE for this stuff... too bad for CNN they're in "robot-rerun mode" at this time of day :)

1. We have had some high speed chases come to an end near here.
It is funny how this is live news worthy in CA. Within days of moving here we saw more than one HSC. We started flipping channels a few moments ago and of course we are watching it.

2. So what's the story behind the outlaw trucker?
Did he take off after being pulled over? Would he not stop for a cop when he was caught speeding? Is the truck on auto pilot?

10. Earthquakes, mudslides, wildfires and Santa Ana Winds?
Jeez, what else could they want?
Car or truck chases, I guess.

11. Hey, it's a slow news day
give 'em a break.. No houses have slid down a cliff for at least a few weeks now, and the fire near us was a dud, so runaway truck is their next best thing

7. What are they typically carrying?
Do we think it's a semi full of illegal immigrants?

Or drugs?

Or is it just standard for car chases in CA, even if they're carrying perfectly legal cargos?

8. The BEST one EVER was the winnebago that went 4-wheelin'
and then the 7-UP truck that left a trail of sparks for miles, was a hoot too :)

9. Weird
Not far from where I'm from originally..

We used to have some family-friends up in Northern CA and they eventually got some channel that showed the chases and they were really taken in by the novelty of it..
