It's her birthday and she got the Harry Potter book, the new movie based upon her favourite TV show and an antique wooden giraffe statue (she's into giraffes) that stands about 2 1/2 feet tall.

3. The book isn't all that expensive

OK, it might be if you're really broke, but most hard-covers these days go for CAN $35+ and the HP book was only CAN $24.50 +GST.

I was originally going to have a nap last night then go to the local bookstore's HP party but I ended up sleeping through the night.

I had to do an emergency run to the pharmacy they had a big sign on the front door saying "Harry Potter book on sale here, ask at counter", so I got the book before she woke up and didn't have to make a panicked trip downtown.
