82. I love the Bangles, and they are awesome live!! Man, can they sing!
I saw them a couple of months ago, however, and they are really missing Michael Steele's back up vocals. Their harmonies were still good, but Michael Steele added so much that it was obvious that something was missing.

Susanna Hoffs is so damn cute and Vicki Peterson can play that guitar!!

Coldplay is, as a young friend of mine put it, a band for 30 something housewifes who think they are still hip...

Now I think there tunes are catchy.... Good pop music

But I was making reference to the appeal to the chicks, as related by my young friend....

I thought it would be funny

There were so many better singers than La Ross. Jean Terelle, Scherrie Payne, Susaye Greene. Mary has really grown as a singer however.

Miss Thang kept the girls in background because people would hear that she wasn't the best singer.

47. PATTI SMITH!!!!!!!
I know the rest of the Patti Smith Group is male...but Patti Smith is one of the greatest female rockers ever to have graced the earth. Her albums, Easter, Radio Ethiopia, Horses, Wave and others are just classic rock masterpieces. I love this woman.

Babelogue

I haven't fucked much with the past, but I've fucked plenty with the future. Over the skin of silk are scars from the splinters of stations and walls I've caressed. A stage is like each bolt of wood, like a log of Helen, is my pleasure. I would measure the success of a night by the way by the way by the amount of piss and seed I could exude over the columns that nestled the P.A. Some nights I'd surprise everybody by skipping off with a skirt of green net sewed over with flat metallic circles which dazzled and flashed. The lights were violet and white. I had an ornamental veil, but I couldn't bear to use it. When my hair was cropped, I craved covering, but now my hair itself is a veil, and the scalp inside is a scalp of a crazy and sleepy Comanche lies beneath this netting of the skin. I wake up. I am lying peacefully I am lying peacefully and my knees are open to the sun. I desire him, and he is absolutely ready to seize me. In heart I am a Moslem; in heart I am an American; in heart I am Moslem, in heart I'm an American artist, and I have no guilt. I seek pleasure. I seek the nerves under your skin. The narrow archway; the layers; the scroll of ancient lettuce. We worship the flaw, the belly, the belly, the mole on the belly of an exquisite whore. He spared the child and spoiled the rod. I have not sold myself to God.

72. The Raincoats!
Kurt Cobain did one good thing in his life: he persuaded David Geffen to reissue the Raincoats' albums.

Their first single, "Fairytale in the Supermarket," is just phenomenal.

85. I am with you on that one. The Wilson sisters definitely kick some
rock n roll ass! Ann's voice and Nancy's guitar playing -- unbelievable!

80. Girl group En Vogue--will always be my fave...(girl band below)
The first incarnation, with the original group of girls. They had such a lovely sound together.

Girl BAND I have a few, one of which would have to be The Donnas'. I am also fond of Sahara Hotnights, and the Runaways even though they all hated each other. LOL!

89. Definitely L7.
They rocked a lot harder than most "guy bands"...and then there's the Reading Festival "tampon incident". :scared:

90. Throwing Muses
Kind of a cheat as they always had at least one male member, but I tend to think of them as a "girl band" as both singer/songwriter/guitarists were female.

96. Throwing Muses....Mmmmm...Tanya Donelly...This band had one
of the best drummers around. I cannot think of his name offhand, but man could this guy play. This was in addition to the lovely Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly.

97. Yeah, David Narcizo-
fantastic drummer and very idiosyncratic. Plus on the last couple of albums they had Bernard Georges on bass- the two added up to about as good a rhythm section as there was at that time, imo.
