WTF is shaking in my bottle of Guinness?
This is my first time drinking it and there is something that makes a rattle noise in it :scared:

1. It's the bottled draft stuff.
Supposed to make it more like draft Guinness...though out of a bottle.

2. Guinness
There's usually a plastic "float" in canned or bottled guinness--helps with the foam.

Don't worry and enjoy!

6. It's called a Widget
and it's scientifically designed to control the flow of N2 into your beer as you tilt the bottle. The new Draught bottles are better from the bottle, don't pour it into a glass.

pints to get you D-U-N done quick.

12. Just back from Ireland. I like the bottle better than draught.
My wife and I both agreed the draught tasted a watery compared to what we get here in the non-draught bottles.

I have tried the fake draught cans here and in my opinion they also just suck.

And so I avoid the little marblely-sounding containers.

The one Murphey's we had was awesome. Anyone know of a source of Murphey's in the US?

Cheers

17. "avoid the little marblely-sounding containers."
I had one six-pack of those. I didn't care for them at all.

In 1981, I was in Dublin and, of course, took the brewery tour. The Guinness you sample at the end is the best brew I've ever had.

I've never had an "American" Guinness because I've been told it's much better in Ireland, so I'm saving myself for that.

39. one night my friend and I just HAD to see what a widget looked like
so we decided to bust open a bottle and have a look. So we were out in his driveway at 2 in the morning trying to bust open a beer bottle without cutting ourselves. We got it after a few tries and to this day I still have that widget sitting on a shelf in my room. Ah the wonders of alcohol

42. Only two beers are injected with Nitrogen at the tap
Guiness and Boddingtons(as far as I know). It's what gives them that creamy head. the widgets are supposed to replicate the texture of the draft pour.
