Just got done watching "Super Size Me"
mmmmm..McDonald's.........

Just kiddin actually before I saw this movie I vowed to never again set foot into a Mickey D's or any other fast food joint unless I was in the middle of nowhere during a trip or something and there just wasn't anywhere else to go. Plus the fact that I've adopted vegetarianism puts a small restriction on eating fast food.

I liked it it was well done I thought, it's one of those "moore" kind of movies that attacks the fast food industry fiercly obviously but the fact that he put his own ass on the line like that was pretty ballsy, a little stupid yea, but it drove the point home.

I noticed that rethugs were even protesting this movie (not as much as Moore's movies) but still it's like if you bought into everything this movie tries to sell you what exactly is so terrible that could happen? you might stop going to restaraunts and get off your lazy ass and cook for yourself for a change?

Sounds like a good idea to me!

2. I haven't gone to fast food
restaurants for 30 years but back when I did I sure thought they were great. They're an easy addiction.

Much slower to cook your own food but oh so much Healthier..and that's what it's all about, isn't it?

I'm glad this("Super Size Me") is getting recognition.. Let the rethugs Eat Fast food(?).

3. The worst that could happen....
You might be forced to face the reality of the consequences of your food choices, which might mean that you'd feel guilty for eating the way you do, and make you feel even more guilty if you don't change your habits, after you're better informed. So yeah, we wouldn't want that :eyes:

4. I admit it - I still eat at Mickey D's sometime
But that movie made me think long and hard about what I'm putting into my body on a daily basis. The Corporation helped reinforce that, especially with milk. I rarely touch milk now unless it's truly organic.

5. What's the upshot of "The Corporation"?
I assume from the context it's about the dairy industry. Haven't heard of it before; sounds intriguing...

7. It's about the machinations and motives about corporations in general
A real eye-opener that, among other things:

1. Demonstrates how corporations gained greater power by getting legally recognized as persons in law.
2. Presents a compelling argument for the psychological profile of a typical corporation.
3. Presents some real-world examples of corporations gone horribly wrong, including activities by Monsanto, Bechtel, and FOX News.

8. Ooooh! That second argument sounds espcially salient...
I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks!

6. the extras are cool on Super Size Me
Anyone watch the part where he put different fries in jars
for weeks on end, the McD fries looked like they were just
bought after weeks and weeks.
