How do I post a file I have on my computer?

the file would have to be uploaded to a public accessible website or server, then you can post the link to it. Maybe the file already exists on the internet somewhere? if so you can post a link to that otherwise you'll have to upload it somewhere yourself first.

Upload to your own website or find a web hosting service that allows remote-linking of pictures. Two possible options are ImageShack http://www.imageshack.us/ and Photobucket http://www.photobucket.com/ . Many free web hosting services (including Geocities and Tripod) do not permit remote linking, so you can't use them.
