Why is it that "Big Fish" always gets to me?

I always end up crying in those last few scenes...damn daddy issues!

But Tim Burton, for some reason, can get away with it. He lulls you into thinking you're watching pure fantasy, all the while throwing in very real issues underneath, and in the end you realize that although the imagery may have been fantasy - the context behind it all is very real, and very sad.

2. I hate that fucking movie so much....

I don't watch depressing fucking movies...false advertising!! I was soooooo bummed out after seeing that, never again.

Your absolutely right about this: the emotion runs like a current underneath, and bursts forth at the coda ...

It brings up a wellspring of feelings in me ... kinda scary ....
