1. Yeah, I love the outdoors
I love camping and going for walks in the woods. I love mountains and trees but I also really enjoy the ocean, just hanging out on the beach being mezmerized by the water.

I used to do a lot of horseback riding - much of what I've done in the past outdoors has been working. I used to work construction and being outdoors was the best thing about it. Also I worked for years at a racetrack so I was outside all the time then.

When I was a kid, about 7 or 8, I'd get up early before everyone and before it was time to get ready for school. I'd sit outside in a lawn chair when the grass was all dewy with a book. It was so relaxing...

2. I'm not really the outdoorsy type. But..
once I get outside, I really enjoy being there, just walking around and taking in the sights. Go figure, right?

:hi:

3. Kind of
I used to go camping a lot in the California redwoods. But the reason I went camping was to be able to go cave exploring during the day, such as in Lost Soldier's Cave and Lilburn Cave. I participated in some of the earlier mapping of Lilburn's Cave, which I believe now totals well over 20 miles in length. I'm not sure if cave exploring qualifies exactly as either an indoor or outdoor activity, however.

18. Sounds great
I had a friend back in college who got hired by the park service to help map parts of Mammoth cave. That guy spent a hell of lot of time underground.

4. Climber and former backpacker
Our scout troop, all 6 of us, did a lot of backpacking in the early 70's along the Appalachian trail. I started climbing with a friend from scouts when we were in 72. I feel pretty comfortable out in the woods.

20. What section?
I've hiked from the PA/MD border to the southern tip of Shenandoah. I've been all over Shenandoah park and a lot of places in WV and the GW forest.

I worked for 7 years(high school and college) for one of the outfitters in the DC area.
