And by radio, I mean free wheeling radio like in the '60's, '70's, and even into the '80's. The days of hearing damn near any kind of music one wanted to hear are long over. Remember Beeker Street on "The Mighty 1090, KAAY"? That staion was out of Little Rock, Arkansas, and played some Rock and Roll that never ever would have been heard today. I think the DJ's name was Clyde something or other. It isn't important, I guess, but man oh man, did they play great tunes. Yes, ELP, Leslie West, James Marshall Hendrix, Eric Burdon and the Animals, James Gang, now that was music. Hell, at one time here in the Quad-Cities of Iowa and Illinois, we had a number of stations which were Independently owned and cranked out tunes. Too many to go into right now, but boy, do I miss those days. Bands which were not neccesarily "commercial" but still damn good at least got airplay. OK, end of nostalgia rant. Before anybody says anything, I am aware that KAAY is now some sort of religious station. And thats a shame.
