I had a friend that was pulled from a mardi gras float one year right on to her head. They stopped the whole parade because of the incident as she laid there on the street with her head bleeding like crazy. Her husband thought she was going to die there was so much blood. They rushed her to the hospital, she had a patch of her head shaved, they stitched her up and she was fine. We gave her a t-shirt that read "World's Largest Parade Throw" and a helmet to use the next time she rode in the parade.

I'm sure they gave you advice, but here's just a bit from me: stay away from aspirin for the time being; it coats your platelets which are crucial for clotting and can make you bleed more easily. I suspect your MD already told you which painkillers you can take...

I'm so sorry you had this big shock to your life. Please take care, and not just physically. You need some psychological support too...This is shocking to your spirit as well as your body!
