Radio Enigma rocks......
That's what FM radio sounded like in the old days, boys and girls...

In the days before the darkness fell

The day before Clear Channel started Mac Programing our airwaves......

Enigmatic, I salute you

12. Yes, 24 hours a day I have that dilemma:
Heat-stroke from being fully-clothed and protected from mosquitoes moonlighting for the Red Cross blood bank;

or

Mosquito-bite victim who died cool, comfy, and undressed, but covered with itching red whelts.

Oh yeah, I know how that goes; West Nile is pretty bad here this year and we're going camping this weekend and it's supposed to be scorching out. I need to wear shorts, but if I do; ouch...

17. I'm sort of allergic to stings and bites.
Edited on Tue Jul-19-05 01:10 AM by Heidi
And the mosquitoes descended on me in my sleep the other night. I think it's because we have a koi pond just under the bedroom balcony: breeding ground. My husband says the fish should be eating the mosquito larvae before they "hatch," and I _totally_ agree. Seems like I can't tell those fish a dang thing!

18. Yep, that's gotta be it...
standing water always brings them; my wife is the same way. They love her but they mostly stay away from me. Probably the garlic I eat:)

19. Garlic?
My husband, who rarely gets a mosquito bite, takes garlic gel-caps daily to ward off high blood pressure. You could be onto something. I have to go googling!

31. See, here's the deal, Enigmatic.
I live in a tiny, developing nation which values universal health insurance more than it values screened windows and/or air conditioning.

I even rubbed mosquito repellant cream all over myself last night, too. My Plan B is to start taking some of my husband's garlic gel-caps, to see if that helps. At the very least, it might lower my blood pressure to a point where the mosquitos aren't interest.

Damn, I'd send you a screen myself if I knew the size of your window; I know it sounds funky, but how about one of those mosquito nets that cover the bed you're always seeing in jungle films? I know they sell them up here in the Bush stores; we've got a pretty bad mosquito problem here, too..

33. Oh, you're gonna think this is nutty, but we DO
have one of those mosquito net things above and surrounding the bed. But I never use it because it "confuses" the Wiley and Excellent Cat Named Ginger, who generally sleeps between my ankles, on top of the sheets. :eyes:

I can buy window screen here, but I'm not sure I can find a contractor who knows how to _install_ window screens, and I'd probably have to get the frames for the screen sheets fabricated. :eyes:
