David Lee Roth has replaced Howard Stern
We keep thinking it's another practical joke (they did something like this at the beginning of the year but this time they used annoying djs that played easy-listening pop songs).

I can only listen in my car so if it's a joke, please let us know. I'll be honest, I switched to WXPN about 3 months ago (College Alt-Rock station out of UPenn) mainly because I started getting up at 5am in the morning and found when I had the Stern station on I woudld ignore the alarm until his show started (Nothing like having 10 minutes to get ready for work).

BTW, I think David Lee Roth is a horrible choice. It would probably be best just to play music in the morning until a proper host can be found

1. You can't be a hardcore fan and not know it's Billy Mirra

and they didn't do "cross and lopez" early this year, it was April Fool's 04.

I don't know if you're listening east Coast or on an hour delay.

Howard comes in and let's it known it's a joke at 7:10-15 Eastern time.

4. It's a joke on the audience, they're playing off the rumor that Dave will
replace them, so they use their regular David Lee Roth impressionist, Billy Mirra, to play a joke on the audience.

On April Fool's 04, they did something similar, with crappy top 40 dj's replacing them.

And they've been on vacation for 2 weeks.

5. God, that guy is so friggin good with his impressions....
I figured it was a joke but I figured they had the actual Dave come in and do it since he's been a friend of the show on occassion. Even though I knew Mira did a spot on Roth impression. Doesn't he also do Ozzy, Gene Simmons, and David Letterman?

7. He does Ozzy, I dunno about Gene Simmons. But Evil Dave is just Evil Dave
some guy they found who talks exactly like David Letterman. It's not BIlly Mirra, not even a comedian.

8. Whoever does Gene Simmons is spot on as well....
...They don't do that one as frequently but when they do it involves him chiming in with sales pitches for absurd Kiss memorabilia. It's funny stuff.

I'm going to miss that show when they go to satellite (there's no way I'm paying for radio).

9. I hope it proves to be a joke.
I've only been listening since Stern got on the air in Houston this past year, so I don't know enough of the old routines to figure out if it is a joke or not. I sincerely hope it is, because DLR is really AWFUL! It was literally PAINFUL to listen to! I was grimacing all the way to work, hoping Stern would break in at some point and say it was a gag.

My ears still hurt! :banghead:
