1. Is it an urban legend?

I do recall hearing they ordered a bunch of them for a rally/protest and only 10 people showed up. I guess each person wanted their own private one.

4. It's real here's the story
About a week before the Oct 2002 protest in DC, we found a link on the Free Republic that they were having a pro-war rally, they were spending $3k on portapotties and that they had people who would standby and guard them.

WE had a major DU gathering at that protest and at one point Matcom, DS1 and Underpants were going to go invade the freeper portapotties. Of course, scroll down a bit and you can see the turnout they had for their gathering. They actually televised our protest AND theirs on C-Span and the freeper rally looked so sad & pathetic with all that money they spent on portapotties. Hell for $3k I would have pocketed the money and just use park services or the portapotties that the anti-war rally folks entered.

I'm not sure what the going rate is for portapotties but I suspect they could have rented just one for the day for around $300 and that would have been more than plenty for their group!

5. Guarding porta-potties. That is so lame.
But actually it is rather befitting a freeper when you think of it.

2. As I recall, they held a pro-war rally
on the day of a huge anti-war rally...the anti-war rally drew a couple hundred thousand, while their rally drew 10 or 15 crazies...

And that then they held a big sobfest afterwards because anti-war people used the porta-potties they rented...
