3. Tiger Woods is a Republican dick...
that all the Republican country club assholes fawn over. However, if he wasn't a ultra level golfer, he wouldn't be allowed to mow the grass on their greens.

6. or......
he could be one of the greatest athletes to ever grace our Televisions and one who many of us would like to see make history (especially as a black man dominating a rich white man's sport) as he tears down numerous barriers and stereotypes.

but ok. :eyes:

I love seeing him dominate a sport that would just as soon not have him play at all.

i'm proud of Lance for beating cancer but i'm getting more than a little sick of his "team" propping him up every year

he's had to ride some difficult stages without his team. Also, the day to day physical effot that the tour takes seems to be unmatched in professional sports.

20. From his website:
Dated 3/2003:

I have great respect for the men and women fighting overseas to protect our way of life in Iraq and other parts of the world. As the son of an Army officer, I understand the strength, courage and discipline required to successfully carry out their missions in hostile environments and feel tremendous pride they are representing us.

Obviously, no one likes war. Our Congress and President tried hard to avoid the use of force, but ultimately decided it was the best course of action. I like the assertiveness shown by President Bush and think we owe it to our political and military leaders, along with our brave soldiers to be as supportive as possible during these difficult and trying times. I just wanted to take this opportunity to let our forces know that I am thinking about you and wishing you and your families the best.

So basically he said a more intellegent version of Britney Spears' infamous "we should support the President no matter what" that she got (correctly) raked over the coals for.

23. I've never heard anyone else
who've made similar statements get defended like this.

Did anyone ask if Britney still feels this way? No? Why, because she's just some dumb bimbo?

Why are people so quick to defend Tiger for making comments others get nailed to the cross over?

18. "There's Hurtz and there's...........not exactly"
What, everyone who supports the Republican party is somehow inherently evil? Do you want to come over to my house and blast my Grandmother. She's an unbelievable lady, and has lived through many things that I couldn't comprehend, but she wouldn't vote democrat if the world was flooded with piss and dems lived in trees.

What's the difference. Soooo quick to judge.

19. All I'm saying is
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 06:09 PM by Merrick
that I'd be satisfied with the millions I got playing golf for a living and opt to not turn myself into a walking Nike billboard for another few million. And I don't recall advocating killing the man KKK style in retribution. The cost of his compromise is merely one of a blemished public perception by people who've grown a bit tired of unscrupulous corporations like the one he represents commercializing every part of the planet people have their eyes on while shitting on those they dont.

29. well, you have posted idiotic statements on a public message board
for starters. :eyes:

actually, THROUGH the PGA, corporate 'Murica has done some WONDERFUL things for communities, minorities, kids, etc....

would they have done so on their own? probably not. BUT, through the PGA corporate sponsorship programs, they give BILLIONS to charities of ALL stripes!

do they get exposure? yup. is that bad? not in my opinion and their $$ go to some WONDERFUL causes!

name ONE pro golfer who DOESN'T wear a corporate lable, endorse a product, etc...

you can't.

BUT, the PGA and USGA do (for the most part) a DAMNED fine job supporting a VARIETY of wonderful causes.
