D'oh! Just had temporary crown fall out
No pain - root canal was done weeks ago, scheduled next week to get a permanent. Is this a big deal? Anything I should make an emergency appointment for? (This is my 1st crown ever)

1. Having gone down the rc/crown road many times, I recommend you
call your dentist when he opens today. Without the temp cap, you can break something real easy.

3. Thanks. I'm reading stuff off the internet right now
that recommends using denture adhesive or toothpast(!) to readhere it in the meantime. Sounds so makeshift for the cost of this badboy. Could have cracked another with the force I unknowingly bit down on it (I was eating Monteray Jack at the time). Sheesh.

2. Why not just give your dentist
a call tomorrow, just to be on the safe side? Couldn't hurt.

4. Oh yeah, I'm gonna' do that.
Just was wondering if I should call him tonight. Doesn't sound like it. Thanks.

8. A couple of months ago I had a temporary crown. I went to Vegas
and that friggin' thing kept coming off. I tried using toothpaste to hold it on but that didn't help much. I am lucky I didn't crush it as it fell off while I was eating pizza. It also fell off while I was playing blackjack!!

9. I had two temporary crowns come loose, go to the Dentist
tomorrow and get the crown glued down again. It won't take long, do not leave that tooth unprotected.

I have 6 crowns, just finished getting them this year. My childhood fillings gave out, at the same time.

10. I've been down that road.
For a temporary fix, use tooth paste or denture adhesive. Worked for me.

11. I'd definitely give your dentist a call, and let him/her decide how
Serious this is. And you can make an appt. at the same time. When this happened to me, I called my dentist at home, in a panic, because I almost swallowed the damn thing! And it had this nasty pointy end on it! She told me this horrible story of when this happened to a child and she rushed her to the ER! Fortunately, she was okay, but this was pretty scary! You were lucky, but please call your dentist!
:scared:
