Rant- Chase credit card balance transfer screw up. |
|
I applied for a new Chase card online earlier this month. The Website said it would take up to one month to get the card. I have two cards outstanding with balances that I wanted to transfer. The web site asked for the current balances so I reported them. While waiting for the new card the other two cards payment date was approaching so I made a minimum payment. I got the card and called to activate it. The woman asked me about the balance transfer amounts and I gave her the updated balances (reflecting the payments made). She put me on hold while she updated the balances to be transfered. 5 minutes later another woman gets on the line and we go through the whole verification process again and I tell her the story- she attempts to change the amount of the transfer- whoops, it was already transfered, SORRY! I have never done a balance transfer but this seems to be piss poor stupid. Now I have to contact the other card companies and request a refund on the payment I made.

1. I don't understand why it would take a MONTH! |

I've never done a balance transfer, but I have applied for credit cards online. We're talking minutes! Account was activated, and I used it immediately!
What reason could they possibly have given you for it taking a month???
