Phase II of my new life starts TODAY
Well, I'm off to do two things today which will change my life:

* I'm signing a lease on an apartment. This will be the first time I've lived alone in almost ten years. I'm nervous as hell.

* I'm visiting a divorce attorney for the first time, with the divorce summons I got from my ex-. I'm even more scared of that. :scared:

* Then, I'm off to visit my marital house. My ex-wife supposedly moved out of it yesterday, and I'm curious to see what she left behind.

I could really use your good thoughts and karma. This is going to be a long day. x(

2. Thinking of you.
I was recently divorced myself, and I hope yours goes smoothly and fairly for all concerned.

3. Good luck!

Actually, the alone part scared me the most. But you'll probably end up enjoying your solitude. I do now. :-)

5. Good luck. Hope you like the Attorney. If you don't feel comfortable
with him/her, look for another. You will be telling this person every dirty little secret you have, so make sure you are comfortable.

7. Best of luck to you
After a time, you will find joy in living alone (especially when you have your kitties there with you). I know it's hard to get used to when you're used to being with someone.

8. Good thoughts
and karma coming your way.

This has got to be tough and I wish I could say something to make it better...other than, you WILL survive this day...it may not seem like it but you will....

I saw a movie the other night called Under the Tuscan Sun with Diane Lane. She played a person who became unexpectedly divorced and a line she said was very interesting. She said, "The know the strange thing about divorce? You don't actually die. You have to keep living."

10. I LOVED that movie
Lane played a woman who took charge of her destiny instead of letting life just happen to her. Great message for someone starting over.

9. Good Karma headed your way!

You get to write the script on what your life will be in the future. Give yourself time to figure out who you will become (and get to know the new you). Breath in and breath out.

15. Well, two outta three ain't bad
I signed the lease, and paid my deposit and 1st month rent, so that's done.

I then sped over to the lawyers', and had the initial consultation. That went pretty well, except I have to come up with $2000 for a retainer. But since our savings account was in her name, I don't have any $$-- she has it. Hmm, I wonder what they pay for a semi-functional kidney on the black market these days...

I didn't make it to the house, so I didn't get to see my catboys. :(. Work is really stressful, and I only got a few hours sleep last night, so I drove the 1.5 hrs back to moms and took a nap, and skipped band practice. I needed the rest, badly, it turns out.

Oh well, there's always tomorrow. Who says I have to get everything done today anyway?

Thanks for the great karma everybody. I needed it! :grouphug:
