3. I have to go to work in El Cajon.
The AC at the hospital I work at is not running efficiently. The maintanence dept said they can fix it. My patients are on ventilators and very unstable and these clowns (I call the the 3 stooges on drugs),and management wont fix it.

6. WAY TOO FUCKIN' hot and I'm indoors in La Jolla
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 03:46 PM by slackmaster
One of the two main AC units for our office building got hammered by a power surge yesterday morning. We're running at 60% capacity with priority given to the production Web and database servers. People come second.

The hum-ditity is going to get worse in a couple of days when the remnants of Hurricane Emily get here in the form of an easterly wave. The NWS is saying we might even get T-storms on the coast. That doesn't happen most years.

14. UPDATE - Someone went out and bought a shitload of popsicles
Everyone in the office is eating them. A pregnant woman gobbled down two Fudgesicles.

9. Hi, maveric...
It's pretty warm here, upcoast from you...I have the AC on here in my study, set at 77 degrees F. It's cycling...Of course, this really helps the humidity. Outside, it's sweltering and muggy...but not like the countries I just came home from, in the eastern Mediteranean. Awful there...I never sweated so much in my ENTIRE life!

:pals:

11. I wish I had AC in my home. Just a bunch of fans.
So, aside from the stifling heat, how was your trip?

10. I work in Santa Barbara county & live in Ventura county. Cool @ the coast
as always. I wear long sleeves & sweaters year round here but I'm in a short-sleeved sweater today.

I should mention I'm a native Floridian and think the best weather California EVER has is when the monsoon flow drifts up and we get humidity. It's delicious. I can sleep with the window open & the fan on.

Everyone else is complaining. Not me. But then again I'm not in an interior valley.

13. Oh come on. Humidity?
You're from Mass originally. You should know what REAL humidity is like. The dewpoint was 78 in Lawrence yesterday and it was 94 degrees. Now that's humidity! ;-)

15. Kathy, I have been spoiled during my 25 yrs out here.
My old friends tell me that I'm "pussed out".
BTW, I was back there (Lawrence/Salem NH) in June and was stunned by the heat & humidity. Mosquitos too.
When the dew point raised a little bit out here peeople freak and do not function well.

16. it's usually so dry out there, so I can see why people think it's muggy
yesterday was DISGUSTING. Today the humidity is lower, but it's still 94. Tomorrow, the humidity is back.

I can only wonder what my electric bill will be like. x(

It's not too bad at home, in Highland Park. We had a power failure from 10-12:30 last night though.
