Do you trust people too much sometimes?

'Cause I do...usually I keep my guard up, but every once in a while, i let it slip, and usually it's a mistake.

I try to remember that you can't trust anyone except yourself, but i guess i forget sometimes.

I think my problem is that i assume that people wouldn't lie about certain things when there's no reason to, although they most assuredly do.

Oy, paranoia will destroy ya... :P

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled programming: Shark Week!

1. I tend to think most people are decent human beings,

but trust is something that is built upon, so I wouldn't say that I trust everyone, but I am not paranoid that people are always out ot get me.

In all seriousness, I do trust people too much sometimes. I had an old friend I put a lot of trust in, and it only wound up hurting me... starting to realize I do put too much trust into certain people that I probably should not.

3. Quite the opposite

I don't trust anybody inherently, they have to earn my trust. Maybe it's because I have seen my mother get screwed over time and time again by people she trusted too readily, but I take the cautious approach. A large percentage of people are mainly out for themselves.

5. It's hard to find that balance between trust and caution

I guess I trust people too easily and have gotten screwed for it many times. I try to be cautious but I still end up jumping in feet first, just my nature I guess. :shrug:

I take the attitude of "don't extend anything you aren't prepared to lose."

And I've been around enough dishonest people in my life, I can usually see them coming a mile away.

I'll trust people, but they have to earn it.

My freeper brother-in-law is one of the nicest people in the world, but he thinks everyone else is as trustworthy and honest as he is. He's been eaten by so many sharks, I'm surprised he still has an ass left.

However, I rarely reveal anything of real import about myself. The one person I trust completely, is my Hubby who is pea green incorruptible and loyal beyond normal human ability. God I love and miss him. Get to see him tomorrow.
