My new coworker/cube neighbor's voice is so loud and intrusive.
I find that I am completely unable to complete a thought when he is talking.

3. He may not be aware that he is so loud
My Aspie kid has no idea that he gets louder and louder the longer he talks. A lot of times he starts out loud, but even when he's trying to be quiet, he gets loud anyway sometimes. I have to remind him not to talk so loud.

Is there a way that you can ask the guy to lower his volume? If not, get a radio for your desk. You won't have to have it loud, but it will run interference and allow you to work.

15. Maybe he's hard of hearing??
My grandfather was always a loud talker, until he got hearing aids. He used to tell us "Look at me, I can't hear you!" He read lips without realizing it.

13. Been there, seen it, heard it...my sympathies go out to you.
Although nothing topped the time my boss (probably in her early 60s, looked like a less-attractive twin sister of "Miss Jane Hathaway" from "The Beverly Hillbillies") showed up late and disheveled one morning with her new boyfriend in tow. If you can imagine comedian Lewis Black in his early sixties, oily hair, completely gone to hell, that was the boyfriend.

She didn't have an office. She had a cubicle in a big open area a few feet from mine.

He hung out a few minutes while she attempted to pull herself together.

She asked "Have you decided what you'll be doing tonight?"

He replied "Hopefully, I'll be gettin' it on with YOU, darlin'..."

She got fired two months into the job for lying about her qualifications on her resume. That probably left her with a lot of free time for "gettin' it on."

29. I know the feeling....
We have this summer student right now, he annoys me by saying the same thing over and over and over

"what's that?" I swear, he's a yakker, and everytime he can't hear somebody, it's "what's that?"....."what's that?"...

I swear, he says this hundreds of times a day. :eyes: drives me nuts.....
