SHAPLEIGH, Maine -- The bikini-clad hot dog vendor near Mousam Lake in Shapleigh who ran afoul of a parking ordinance has cut a deal with state and local officials.

Katharine Schultze was embroiled in a dispute over where she locates the small red-and-white cart from which she sells hot dogs and lemonade. Officials cited complaints that her setup is a safety hazard at the busy intersection of Routes 11 and 109.

Under terms of the compromise, Schultze will be able to remain in her spot this season. But she'll have to move next year when she opens for business with a modified cart that she can wheel across the street.

Shapleigh selectmen approved the compromise by a vote of 2-1.
