The B.C. Hells Angels have started a public relations counteroffensive after being hit by police raids last week.
"We are a bunch of nice guys and we like to ride motorcycles," Rick Ciarniello, a long-time Hells Angels spokesman, said Tuesday on a Vancouver talk radio show.
One caller would have none of that, telling the heavy-set, tattooed Ciarniello: "You know and I know you are involved in criminal activity."
The police maintain the Angels are a criminal organization involved in the drug trade. They arrested six full members and 12 associates.
The evidence they presented to the media on Monday didn't appear to be motorcycle related: There were automatic weapons, drugs and huge wads of cash. There were even four hand grenades.
The Angels counter by saying they are a men's club with a few bad apples and that the guns and drugs weren't seized from their property.
Ciarniello said it was like saying the "Stanley Park Six" -- six Vancouver police officers convicted of assaulting suspected drug dealers -- represented all police officers.
