Have you ever been arrested?
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 05:34 PM by no name no slogan
I have been once, for civil disobedience.

I was arrested for "trespassing" on the grounds of a major defense contractor during a demonstration. We laid down in front of the doors and had to be removed by da cops.

Among those arrested during that action was the wife of the then-chief of police. Needless to say the media was all over that one!
:D

ON EDIT: I also almost got arrested when I lived in the UK, coming back from a beer festival. We were in London, and the tubes were shutting down for the night. We had to walk the last couple miles home, but seeing as we had consumed mass quantities of beer we had to use the loo VERY VERY BADLY.

All the shops were closing and nobody would let us use their toilets. So, a friend and I ducked down a side street and hid behind a couple payphones and relieved ourselves.

Shortly thereafter, a cop car pulled up, shined a light on us, and asked in a very proper manner, "excuse me, what do you think you're doing?"

"Uh, making a phonecall?" my friend replied, as the puddle at his feet grew bigger and bigger.

"There are better places to do that" replied the cop. Needless to say, we finished up and beat it like Michael Jackson.

Never got arrested, though :P

1. I was arrested for laughing...
..at a police officer who arrested my friend for playing frisbee in the park.

I was arrested for suspicion of hijacking, too, and for trespassing on federal property.

All charges were dropped and I've not been arrested since I was eighteen.

2. Never.
I've come close once, for trespassing, back when I was a teenager.

Now, if I get arrested, I have to report that to my employers, so I have to be very careful

3. trespassing
My teen-age Sunday school class went to an abandoned, vacant "haunted" house after our youth group supper one Sunday night.
The local cops must have gotten a tip and they rolled up the driveway.
Busted.
We had to bring our parents to court.
I think we got off with a reprimand or something.
Don't think I have a record.
Pretty tame.

Squeaky clean, in that sense.

5. Nope. Shoulda been, once.
The van I was riding in got pulled over at 2 am. The entire van reeked of pot smoke. Everyone (including the driver) was high. There were a lot of drugs in that van.

I do not know why the cop let us go -- didn't even search, didn't even warn, nothing.

9. Derisive words to a police officer...
I oinked at him. The charge was continued forever. That was 1970.
